OUR MISSION

We research and tell true stories of Hollywood's Jewish founders and other diverse groups in the motion picture industry.

  • European Jewish immigrants founded the major movie studios Universal, Fox and MGM and helped their fellow Jews escape the Nazis.

  • Asian, African-American, Women and LGBTQ writers, actors, directors and producers need to be recognized as important contributors to Hollywood history as well.

These stories need to be told in print, on the screen and in museum exhibitions.

This is our mission.

A producer, writer, director and consultant, Deborah studied painting, photography, history, film and English at Brown University and UCLA. She taught at Waldorf schools in Kenya, New York and California, and LA Unified schools in South Los Angeles. She even taught at a few Jewish schools, before turning to filmmaking.

Her love for investigative journalism, storytelling and image-making led her to turn research on her family history into a documentary. She founded Hollywood History Society to assist in this process.
